Does your baby cry excessively?
Is your child hyperactive or difficult?
Childbirth is probably one of the most traumatic events of our life – even if delivery is ‘normal’. The trauma, strains and tensions of delivery have an effect on the tissues of the baby especially on those of the head (as it is squeezed and delivered first). Any extra tensions from the use of forceps or ventouse birth further add to the strain to the bones of the baby’s head.
Although all babies cry, some cry more than others!!! Colic is a common disorder for babies. Many mothers and midwives have found that cranial osteopathy can reduce the intensity and frequency of the crying episodes, making for a better quality of life for the parents and family.
Many children are hyperactive, always on the go and cannot settle down. Often poor sl
eep patterns continue and poor concentration is expressed. Some children continue to bed wet beyond the normal age group. Poor mental ability and cerebral palsy (partial brain damage) in children can be the result of a traumatic or long birth delivery. Cranial osteopathy reduces the strains and tensions in the skull of a child or baby and allows the brain and nervous system to develop greater health and function.
Hyperactive children often have difficulty with concentration at school and perhaps anti-social behaviour with others in their school. Hyperactivity in the nervous system can result from continued stimulation of the brain and nervous system from tension in the skull. By reducing tensions in the tissues of the head, cranial osteopathy can be very beneficial for such children.
